Your Recovery & Aftercare Journey
We guide you through every stage of recovery, from your first days in Istanbul to your safe return to the UK. We explain what to expect at each step, provide clear aftercare guidance, and remain in close contact with you to ensure a smooth, well-supported healing process.
1. Immediate Post-Operative Period
Your First Days in Istanbul
During the first 24–48 hours, mild to moderate swelling and bruising around the nose and eyes are expected. Discomfort is usually minimal and well controlled with prescribed medication. A nasal splint is applied to protect the new structure, and our medical team monitors you closely.
Between days 3 and 7, swelling and bruising gradually reduce. We provide clear instructions for internal and external nasal care. The cast and stitches are typically removed on day 7 or 8, following a final clinical check before your return.
Most of our UK patients stay in Istanbul for 7 to 8 days.
2. Flying Back to the UK
Safe and Medically Approved Travel
Following a clinical evaluation, patients are usually fit to fly after 7–8 days. When required, we provide a formal Fit-to-Fly confirmation letter.
Direct flights to the UK are commonly used and considered safe at this stage of recovery.
3. Early Recovery at Home
Weeks 1–4 After Surgery
Once back home, some residual swelling and nasal stiffness are normal. Bruising typically resolves within 2 to 3 weeks. Most patients return to desk-based work within 7 to 10 days.
Light physical activity can usually be resumed after two weeks. However, strenuous exercise and contact sports should be avoided for 4 to 6 weeks to protect healing tissues.
4. Remote Follow-Up & UK Patient Support
Continuous Care, Wherever You Are
Your care continues after you return to the UK. We provide regular online follow-ups via WhatsApp or video consultation, supported by photo-based progress assessments at scheduled intervals.
You have direct access to our patient coordination team and receive clear guidance on what is normal during healing and when to contact us. Support does not stop when you leave Istanbul.
5. Long-Term Healing & Final Results
Refinement Over Time
Nasal shape continues to refine gradually over 6 to 12 months. In patients with thicker skin, this process may take up to two years.
Final aesthetic results for thin and normal skin types are typically assessed at 12 months, while functional breathing improvements are often noticed much earlier.
